Joint Venture Partnership:
Austin Street Older Adult Center, part of Selfhelp Community Services, is a welcoming space dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults in Forest Hills and surrounding communities. We provide a wide range of programs and services designed to promote health, independence, and social connection.
Our center offers nutritious kosher/Glatt meals daily, ensuring that members enjoy meals that meet both dietary and cultural needs. In addition, we provide engaging activities such as arts and crafts, exercise classes, cultural programs, and lifelong learning workshops, as well as essential support services including case assistance, benefits counseling, and wellness programs.
At Austin Street Older Adult Center, every member is valued and included. We strive to create a safe, supportive, and vibrant environment where older adults can continue to learn, grow, and connect with one another.
Austin Street Older Adult Center is supported by NYS Office for the Aging, NYC Aging, NYS Senator Joseph Addabbo Jr., NYS Assemblymember Andrew Hevesi, NYC Councilmember Lynn Schulman, Congresswoman Grace Meng, and Queens Borough President Donovan Richards.

At Selfhelp, we’re hopeful that vaccinations will reduce the spread of COVID-19. We’ve advocated on behalf of our clients, supporting them in planning and scheduling for their vaccines.
In February 2021, we were proud to partner with the Charles B Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC). With CBWCHC, we opened a vaccination site from our Benjamin Rosenthal Senior Center in Flushing, Queens.Â
For more information on the vaccine, visit COVID-19 – NYC Health.
